Spiders – we all hate them. And the last place you need them is in your own living space. While the shed is not exactly a part of your home, it is a place where you spend a significant amount of time, and spiders are prone to live in it if you do not take steps to maintain it properly. Spiders tend to enjoy dark spaces, and because sheds also attract other insects, they also serve as a food supply for spiders. But you don’t have to let spiders take up residence in your shed. If you make the effort, you can keep your shed free of spiders.
This is one of the most basic steps you need to take to keep your shed free of anything unwanted. If you keep your shed clean then spiders won’t have much of an incentive to move in, as they are primarily attracted to the insects that are already there.
Make sure that your items are set firmly against the wall leaving little or no space for spiders to hide or build webs. It also helps to pack your items in crate to make it more difficult for spiders to reach them.
Seal the gaps that are in the walls or roof and keep the doors closed. Of course, you need ventilation – so you can install nets on windows to keep spiders and other insects out.
Spray the entire shed with insecticide if you can. There are environmentally friendly options available. If you do catch a spider and won’t use insecticide, then simply capture it with a jar and remove it carefully.
Make sure all your boxes are tightly sealed and cover up anything that the spiders can use to build a web.
Keeping your shed spider free is not difficult. If you clean it out regularly and store things properly, you will keep your shed spider free.
