Kawartha Single Slope Sheds in Ontario
The Kawartha Style shed has a single sloped roof that typically slopes from an 8’ front to a 6’ back. Homeowners appreciate that this shed can fit into their landscape design when space is an issue.
This model can be used for storage of outdoor equipment, garden equipment, bicycles, skis, snowboards, etc., or for outdoor entertaining. Like all of our other sheds, the Kawartha Single Slope can be customized to larger sizes.This all-wood style is perfect if considering a potting shed or a greenhouse or studio. Simply add windows on the front to let the sunlight in and you have a terrific place to prepare plantings for your vegetable and flower gardens.
The construction of all our outdoor wooden sheds consists of 2×4 spruce wall studs with 24” centres and 2×6 pressure treated floor joists, 16” on centre, with 5/8” tongue and groove OSB flooring. The walls are built with LP SmartSide which is an engineered wood product that comes already primed in a neutral colour.
LP SmartSide siding products are treated using a proprietary process. This process consists of four components of protection adding strength and durability which helps the product to withstand impacts, the freeze/thaw cycle, high humidity, fungal decay, and termites. The majority of the trim is unprimed spruce which will require painting.
All our sheds are installed the same day with a block and gravel foundation unless there is an existing concrete pad. Architectural shingles are available in either black or brown and come with a 25-year manufacturer’s warranty.
Many options to upgrade are available such as upgrading the floorboards from 5/8” OSB to 5/8” pressure treated plywood. This upgrade ensures longevity and greater protection from wear and tear due to excessive use. Some other additional upgrades and accessories available are slider windows with screens, a workbench, fold up table, tool rack and, solar lights. The list goes on.
