FAQ

How do I choose the right location for my pool shed or cabana in my garden?

To choose the right location for your pool shed or cabana in your garden, consider factors like proximity to the pool for easy access, sunlight and shade patterns, visibility from your home and neighbouring properties, and ensuring it blends aesthetically with your garden and house. Additionally, ensure year-round accessibility, adherence to local regulations, and think about potential future changes in your garden. Safety considerations for equipment and chemicals should also guide your decision, resulting in a practical and visually harmonious placement.

How do pool sheds and cabanas differ from each other?

The main difference between a pool shed and a cabana lies in their purpose and design. A pool shed is primarily utilitarian, serving as a storage space for pool equipment and tools, while a cabana is a more versatile structure designed for leisure and entertainment. Cabanas often feature seating areas, changing rooms, outdoor showers, and kitchen facilities, prioritising aesthetics and functionality to enhance the poolside experience. The choice between the two depends on your specific needs and preferences for your pool area.

How can I customise my pool shed or cabana to match my outdoor space?

Our pool sheds and cabanas come in various styles and materials, allowing you to choose a design that complements your outdoor décor. All our pool sheds and cabanas can be painted or stained to match existing structures or to match your preferred colour scheme

What are the benefits of having a pool shed or cabana?

A pool shed or cabana offers several advantages, including secure storage for pool accessories, protection from harsh weather, enhanced safety by locking away chemicals and equipment, and an improved aesthetic appeal for the pool area. Additionally, it provides convenient access to pool maintenance essentials, making upkeep more efficient. Some pool sheds or cabanas even include changing rooms or restrooms, enhancing privacy and comfort for swimmers and guests, further enhancing the overall pool experience.

What is the average lifespan of a well-maintained pool shed or Cabana?

The average lifespan of a well-maintained pool shed or cabana typically ranges from 15 to 25 years or more. This longevity depends on factors such as construction quality and the materials used. Regular maintenance, including inspections, repairs, and protective measures against moisture and pests, is crucial for ensuring the shed remains functional and in good condition over time.

Are there any regulations or permits needed to build a pool shed or cabana?

When building a pool shed or cabana, it's important to be aware that regulations and permits are typically required. These can include building permits to ensure compliance with local building codes, zoning regulations governing size and placement, environmental permits in sensitive areas, and additional permits for electrical or plumbing work. Additionally, homeowners' association rules, accessibility standards, and fire codes should also be considered to ensure a smooth and compliant construction process.

Do pool sheds and cabanas require regular maintenance?

As with any outdoor wooden structure, regular maintenance is required to ensure they stay functional and attractive. Maintenance tasks include roof inspections, cleaning, painting or staining, pest control, addressing any mould or mildew issues as they arise, and regular structural inspections. Specific maintenance needs will vary based on the materials used, the climate and custom features, but regular upkeep will extend the lifespan and prevent costly repairs.

How much does it cost to build a pool shed or cabana?

The cost of building a pool shed or cabana can range from $5,000 to $30,000 or more, depending on factors like size, design complexity, materials used, location, and customization. Labour, foundation, site preparation, and accessories also contribute to the overall expenses. It's best to consult with a member of our team for a personalised quote.

Do you provide insulation, electrical, etc. for your sheds?

We can provide insulation, but we do not do electrical or plumbing. For these services a local contractor would need to be engaged.

Will you come out to look at my property before installing?

If the location of where the shed will be installed is fairly level and has no more than an 8" drop from one side of the shed to the other, a site visit is not necessary. However if you feel there is an issue with your property that may be a concern, we can certainly come out to make an assessment.
